This is the seventh or eighth week since we arrived in Chiang Mai. About two weeks ago, we moved into our new home. It is a two-story, four-bedroom house. I know, I can't believe Jess and I live in such a big house either. Believe it or not, the rent is much lower than it was in Greensboro. Our friends Vince and Peter are coming to Chiang Mai to work with us, and they will be living in our home while they are here. I am hoping and praying for a house that is great for friendship and fellowship. I've been praying over the house, that the Lord will allow it to be a special space.
So we are getting settled little by little - one piece of furniture, one gallon of paint at a time. The house had a lot of old furniture that smelled like the wood has been wet for decades and have been decaying. The good news is, our landlords (a married couple) are super kind and gracious. They have gone above and beyond helping us move in and get settled as we got rid of a lot of our furniture and replaced a sink. When we first moved in, we felt a little out of place, as if the house wasn't our house. I guess we all go through this phase when moving into a new home. Now, after a few weeks of living at our new house, we are starting to love it more and more. There is still much work to do, but we are really excited for what we will be able to do in our new home. There is so much hope :)
